Here is a listing of software that I have found useful so far. There are demo versions available for all of them for you to evaluate.
AvantGo
www.avantgo.com

Offline Web Browser
This is a great program for reading newspapers, abstracts, and anything else that is available on the web.  UMED is currently using this to make a handheld site. Click here to install the site on your handheld. So far we have the student directory, Filthy Lucre, and Forums available.
ePocrates

HanDBase

Database Program
This is a customizable database program that allows you to edit and access information. There is a desktop program that comes free with the program that allows you to edit and convert all the databases that you want. In addition, there are HUNDREDS of FREE premade databases available. Some that I use are listed below:

Medical Abbreviations
Medical Spanish
Anatomy Reference
HTML Tags

iSilo
www.isilo.com

Doc and iSilo Reader
This is a great doc and iSilo reader. Doc files are freely available on the web for lots of different topics. The iSilo format is nice because it REALLY compresses files down. Any HTML files can be converted into the iSilo format, including graphics and most HTML tags. Some of the document that I use are listed below:

Homeless Clinic Handbook
Netters info
Anatomy Notes (The ones on the website)
***Sorry, I don't have a link to all these yet.***

Other Medical Documents available at MemoWare

Quik Budget
www.quikbudget.com
Budget Program
This is a great program to manage the money that you use during the month. It has helped me save money just by keeping track of how I spend.
WordSmith
www.bluenomad.com

Doc Editor/Reader
This is the document writer that I use and love. It allows full editing of text on the palm and fluidly incorporates it into MS Word.  This way you can work on reports from you computer, save it to the palm, and finish them later when you have time (like on the bus, during Medical Interview class, etc.) Highly reccomended if you have an 8 Mb unit. (requires 500k)
QED
qland.de/qed

Doc Editor/Reader
This is a good program for document editing. There is a companion program available for MS Word that allow you to convert Word document directly over to the palm pilot. This is a great program if you only have a 2 Mb unit or are memory conscous. (takes about 50k) It doesn't have all the bells or whistles that WordSmith has.
TealPaint

Graphics Program
This is a great program for drawing and viewing graphics. It is shareware.
Hacks
Hackmaster at:
www.daggerware.net

X-Master at:
www.linkesoft.com

Utility Program
HackMaster and X-Master provide a "control panel" interface to enable and configure extensions to the PalmOS, called Hacks. One of these applications are required in order to utilize most Hack files. Some of the "Hacks" that I use are:

Afterburner-Allows the palm to run up to 288% faster then normal!
ClearHack-Removes underlining from the Date Book, Address Book, and elsewhere
MultiClipHack-Expands the built-in ClipBoard function
SwitchHach-Provides a simple and fast method to switch between recently run applications
SelectHack-Quickly select an entire word by simply double-tapping on it or triple-tapping to select the entire paragraph
FindHack-Quickly find any text in any file. Allows wildcards.
FontHack123-Change the system fonts

There are TONS of other hacks available.  Be advised that some hacks have a tendency to crash your palm.  Email me if you have any questions.

SuperMemo
www.mapletop.com

Flash card utility.  Make your own "3x5" cards and carry hundreds of them around with you.
Mapopolis
Mapopolis

Speeds up your grafitti by prompting you with a list of words. Start writing the first few letters and then select the word that you want from a list.
Games

DopeWars, Miniopolis, Space Trader, Chess
