Intangible Benefits:

The AMA you join is the same AMA that you hear about on TV, read about in the papers, and hear about on NPR.  It's
the same AMA that accredits medical schools, puts out the best residency information sources (FRIEDA and the "Green
Book"), and the same AMA that oversees all CME activity after you leave residency.  In joining the AMA, your voice will
join the most influential and encompasing physicians organization in the country.  Once you leave medical school,
membership dues are substantially (astronomically) higher. You will rarely encounter a deal this good.

The Bottom Line

    1 year: $20
    2 years: $38
    3 years: $54
    4 years: $68

    (Application at bottom of page)
*Remember, memberships make great birthday/holiday/early graduation gifts from parents and grandparents!
    (Shameless, aren't we?!)

Intangible Benefits

The UMA works just as hard as the AMA (maybe harder), only on a local level. In addition to their presence on Utah's
Capitol Hill, they are behind a number of public health efforts here, and are a key player in the negotiations between
physicians and managed care in Utah. Perhaps the most apparent benefit to members of the UMA is the instant affiliation
with practicing physicians. Whether it's your future attending, your child's pediatrician, or someone you've never met before,
the chance to share a dinner table with a "real live doctor" and discuss issues of mutual interest is just about unheard of --
except among the student members of the UMA. (Let's face it, even in the new curriculum there are no classes in the art
of "Schmooze" -- where else are you going to learn?)

The Bottom Line

1 year: $20 ($10 for the UMA, $10 for the SLCMS)
2 years: $35 (Half for the UMA, Half for the SLCMS)
    3 years: $50 (ditto)
    4 years: $65 (ditto)
